The venue The Northern Scripture Festival in York will take place at the Lower Site of All Saints Catholic School. The address is:
All Saints School Lower Site Nunnery Lane York YO23 1JG
Please note that the school also has an Upper Site, so don't go to the wrong place!
Access to the Lower Site is through gates on Nunnery Lane.
Transport
By car All Saints School Lower Site is just outside the southern side of York's medieval city walls. For directions click here. Parking, including disabled parking and charge points for electric vehicles, is available in Nunnery Lane City of York Council car park. A full list of all car parks in the city can be found here. Since York car parks can be expensive, you may prefer to use the Park and Ride service.
A limited number of car parking spaces on site at the school are reserved for those organising the event and leading workshops.
By train York is well served by local and national rail networks. Nunnery Lane is less than a five minute walk from York Railway Station. There is a taxi rank at the front of the Station.
Disabled access Most of the Lower Site is wheelchair accessible, but not all rooms that we will be using. When booking, please specify any access requirements that you have.
Children The Bible is for everyone, of course, including children. However, our Festival talks and workshops are mostly aimed towards persons 15 years of age and above. Children younger than 15 are welcome to attend the Festival with a parent or carer, but sadly we are not in a position to offer crèche facilities or parallel events for children.
Catering Tea and coffee will be available upon arrival and throughout the day.
Lunch is not provided. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch to eat on site.
Alternatively, there are a number of shops and cafés in the vicinity, including:
The Bar Convent café on Blossom Street
Sainsbury's Local on Blossom Street
Nearby pubs and hotel cafés
Photography Photographs will be taken during the Festival by designated photographers as part of coverage of the event in local and national media in print and online. If you do not wish to be included in photographs, you can indicate this when registering or on the day. Those unwilling to be in photos will be issued a badge or symbol by the Festival. Participants are welcome to take photographs, but asked to respect the privacy of those wearing non-photography badges.
Please note All Saints School is a no smoking site.
